  1. I would like to ask, if I may, what is the maximum resolutions these screens get. One of the really great things about the XO’s screen is its 1200×900 on a 7.5″ screen. I just checked at COMPUTEX, so I am now certain that the Aspire One has the same 1024×600 resolution that the EeePC has but on a 10.1″ screen.

If your technology can do 1200×900 on a 7.5″ screen, what can it do on a 10.1″ screen. I think this figure will rock people’s worlds even more than the other strengths PixelQi has previously touted. So, if it is not too much trouble, what is the maximum resolution these new screens can achieve?

comparing our screen to normal LED backlight LCD in Asus netbook->It should be compared in Acer’s netbook.
[MLJ note: we have compared of course - as we took them out. PQ screens higher resolution, sunlight readable and lower power]

    Hello,

There has been a lot of talk of epaper readers and netbooks but I think there are some other huge markets that are being overlooked; namely, marine and aviation applications. Sunlight readable displays are key for marine applications for radar, weather, GPS, sonar (fish finder, depth), autopilot, engine stats and other readouts. All these would benefit greatly from a Pixel Qi display on the fly bridge, centre consoles, cockpit, you name it. There is no shortage of blaring sunlight in marine applications. The same can be said for aviation displays. I’m not sure who you should contact for aviation but for marine applications you should definitely show your screen to the folks at Raymarine and at Furuno. You are most definitely missing out on a large market if you overlook these sectors.

[MLJ note: of course we want them to be used in all those ways indeed many of these application drove me in my inventing - we are initially focused this summer on run-in changes for netbooks which can be used in many ways]

@LuYu: The XO screen resolution you state matches up with Pixel Qi’s stated 200ppi. Scaling that up to the 10.1″ format of an Acer Aspire laptop it does indeed get quite respectable - with a resolution of about 1740*1020. That’s nearly three times as many pixels as the current display (1024*600). This is for the less-coloured reflective mode, naturally, but I for one would appreciate it immensely.

    Hello,

The technology is really interesting, but I am wondering how much customers will be charged for this solution , having in mind that it seems first models will be available during Xmass buying spree…

Will it be budget solutions for crisis ?

Ups misspelled - it should be budget solution. Excuse me, 12 hours of staring at regular eye-burning LCD.

    Hi Mary,

I’ve been following OLPC and Pixel Qi with interest now for a couple of years. I would love to see a Pixel Qi screen in an Openmoko phone:

I thought the open-source software and hardware of this phone would appeal to you (and also make it easy to see whether it’s an appropriate product).

    I also recently stumbled upon
    http://www.qi-hardware.com/
and wondered if PixelQi was at all affiliated with it?

    Hi Mary,

I think my first comment was lost, so apologies if this is a repost.
Will you be supplying a screen to OpenMoko?

Also, is PixelQi affiliated with Qi-Hardware?

What size HDTV products are you referring to on your product’s page? 20″, 30″, 40″, 50″, etc? A 42″ HDTV using less than 10 Watts would be absolutely amazing, so I assume that figure is for a smaller size. When do you believe your HDTV products may become available? I currently use a CRT TV from the early 1990′s but I’m holding off purchasing any new system for now. (Admittedly I’m not much for watching TV or movies at my home as other friends have better set ups than myself.)

Also, are there any avenues for investing in your company? I know you are not public, but with your all-star staff and products I believe great things will come from Pixel Qi and I would like to invest in your company as early as possible.

    Hi…

Mary Lou I noted that the bezel on the Pixel Qi mini has a tremendous amount of reflection which can be disconcerting when typing/writing.

Is there any way you can inform future mini manufacturers of this fact
so they might make their bezels mat?

    Thanks.
